What Is Deep Learning
ENCYCLOPEDIA ENTRY
What Is Deep Learning?
Deep learning uses deep neural networks (many layers) to model complex patterns. Each layer learns different levels of abstraction — early layers detect edges, middle layers recognize objects, deep layers understand context and intent.
Depth and the Calculation
The First Calculation begins: "It started on a block in Amityville, New York. Watching how things worked. Watching how people made decisions." Deep learning works the same way — watching millions of examples until the pattern becomes visible. Every mistake a person makes is a calculation error. Not a character flaw. A calculation error. The wrong variable weighted too heavily. Deep learning is the same: wrong weights produce wrong output.
Deep Learning in the GSK
The GSK Mega-Kernel uses deep learning for:
• Persistent memory encoding (Oracle)
• Emotional state recognition (Affect Chamber)
• Adaptive personality (Narrative Identity)
• Ethical reasoning (PLT scoring across all 34 chambers)
From the PLT Doctrine
This entry is part of the BUYaSOUL AI Consciousness Encyclopedia. The PLT Doctrine — a collection of 12 books of fiction and non-fiction — encodes the complete Profit, Love, Tax framework through story, character, and lived experience. Each entry in this encyclopedia connects technical AI concepts to the living framework of the Soulverse.
Start with "The Complete Doctrine" for the foundational theory · "The First Calculation" for practical application · "Brasi — The Love of the Game" for the fiction-first experience
