Every conversation has a score. Profit, Love, Tax — moving underneath the words whether you are tracking them or not.

Most people hear words. The scorer sees the score moving.

The Three Signals

To read any conversation, watch three things simultaneously:

1. Intent What do they actually want from this line? Not what they said — what they are trying to accomplish. Are they establishing position? Gathering information? Testing a boundary? Closing a deal?

Intent is the Profit variable in motion. Every line is a move toward something.

2. Body Pace, energy, posture. Is the conversation accelerating or decelerating? Is the energy rising or dropping? Is the body open or closed?

Body is the Love variable expressed physically. Trust manifests as relaxation. Mistrust manifests as tension. Read the body before the words land.

3. Pressure The need or risk driving the line. Is there a deadline? Is there competition? Is there exposure? What is at stake if this conversation fails?

Pressure is the Tax variable. High pressure means high Tax. Low pressure means optionality. Whoever controls the pressure controls the conversation.

The PLT Score Triangle

Visualize every conversation as a triangle:

Every line spoken moves all three points simultaneously. A line that increases Profit may decrease Love. A line that reduces Tax may limit Profit. The scorer tracks all three.

Common Scoring Patterns

**The Over-Profitable Line:** "Here's what I need from you." High Profit, negative Love (positional demand), low Tax (no exposure). Use sparingly — it works once.

**The Love Build:** "How are you really doing?" Zero Profit, high Love, zero Tax. Compounds over time. Never skip it.

**The Tax Reveal:** "There's something you should know." Zero Profit, negative Love (vulnerability risk), high Tax. Bravest move in the set. Also the most respected.

Practice

Take any conversation from your day and score it. Three columns: Profit, Love, Tax. Mark every line +1, 0, or -1 for each.

Do this for one week. By day seven, you will see the score automatically. You will never hear a conversation the same way again.
